Kevin and I didn’t really have any profound reason why we choose the orange elephant. We liked him the most out of all the other ideas we had for a logo, so we let him live on our page. But after spending time on our blog, seeing him week after week, I wanted to see and know more about elephants. So that’s what I did. Did you know that the elephant is the largest animal that lives on land? That they are extremely intelligent, having memories that stay with them for many years. They show signs of deep grief, such as when a infant elephant is lost. Mothers will stay by the body for days, and even continue to visit the body long after. They also can produce sub-sonic rumbles over long distances which other elephants can receive in the sensitive skin in their feet and trunks. Now I just think elephants are the coolest. I feel that the uniqueness of the elephant mirrors the uniqueness of us. If I haven’t made you desire to have a pet elephant someday yet, I am sure the photos will make you an elephant lover too.
